It should build pressure back up but its always a good excuse to put new ls7 lifters in and hand port the intake and exhausr runners on ur heads

If there were a collapsed lifter, would one one the rocker arms be loose? Or is there any way to tell with just the valve cover off?

Changed spark plugs, started it up without the valve covers to watch and the noise was gone. Put everything back together and took it for a test drive, drives and idles much smoother and don't have to two foot it. Just waiting for a tune now! Thanks for the suggestions guys, I got lucky.
