Default Knock Sensor Codes

First off a Merry Christmas to all!

I am reaching out for some help. I haven't been on here much for quite a while. Recently I broke a bunch of pistons and decided to retire my STS turbo and replaced the engine with a GM rebuilt engine. It was expensive for what it is but came with warranty so I decided to go this route. I have not been able to get it to run without setting knock sensor codes P0327 and P0323. I now have 1800km on the engine and hating every km...lol. Not a lot of joy or fun.

I did all the tests according to documentation I got from Alldatadiy and read some posts I goggled. The only test I could not complete was tapping on the block with a non metallic object (plastic hammer in my case) and getting my test gauge to register a small voltage reading. I have recently replaced the knock sensors for the second time (used ones first) which I bought online with a new harness (Chinese sensors) and still no joy. I also replaced the PCM with a used unit I got from Flashmasters in Ohio with the most current file.

I believe I have extinguished all the avenues I am aware of and I was hoping someone might recognize the symptoms and be able to give me an idea of how to proceed.

Thank you.

My Parts store sensors matched the OEM ones to a T but didn't last much more than a month before the code returned. I finally installed a good used one.

I suggest pulling the sensor and testing it. When you tap on it the resistance value should change.

If it does not, the sensor is bad. Get An OEM replacement from the dealer.

Don't buy one online as they may be handled roughly in shipping and they could get damaged.

I may have to try GM parts just to rule that out. My harness tests fine so I don't think that is an issue.

Thanks guys

This is funny because a friend didn't listen to my advice recently... His ebay sensors and harness were throwing codes.

Went to the junkyard and pulled some used OEM sensors and harness.

No more codes...

Glad you got it fixed!!!

LOL!

Ebay has it's place but not for electronics. I had a similar issue eons ago with a fuel pump in my old s10. I replaced it with a local auto parts brand. It would never crank right. It would take multiple attempts to crank it.

Went and got a Delco pump, never was an issue again.
