Default KATECH Performance Belt Tensioner

Today I installed a Katech Performance belt tensioner. This one is adjustable compared to the factory spring loaded one. And it looks really cool! The big picture is finally in sight. August the motor is coming out for a cam and head package. More pics to follow....

That's a nice looking unit, how much did it cost?

Those are nice. I wish they made one for FI applications.

I may end up needing one of these if trying a shorter belt doesn't cure my belt squeal when my converter locks up...

My truck is a 2007 5.3 LY5. Go to the Katech website, they are available for many applications. I paid $125.00

Funny thing is Katech sent a message via Facebook, They had a special on tensioners. I saw that and had to buy one. I am sure like many others.....

Hey Bud, actually that was the "real" reason I bought mine.

My truck has a really positive 2-3 / 3/4 shift. I hear a loud belt slip.
So I am starting with the serpentine belt. I know the factory A/C tensioners are junk, don't know of any aftermarket....

I have a feeling that I'll be investing in one of these in the future...just checked Katech's website and they're normally $135, wish I had the money to buy one now while they're on special but oh well. Besides being functional, it's a cool looking piece. I'd like to see some pics of your engine (standing back a little bit so that the tensioner and coolant crossover are both in the pic) when you get a chance, it must look pretty trick with the upgraded coolant crossover and tensioner

Under boost the belt stretches and you need the tension to pick up the slack. It says on thier site not for FI applications.
