I installed a double 3" in/out magnaflow muffler in the stock location and replaced the 2 baffles on the air intake with riveted tin plates.Very nice cheap mod's with great sound and throttle response.Very

Please tell me what you are talking about when you say air baffles?

Is that mufler the one that has a built in X?

2. baffles are the "mufflers" in the air intake tube.They cause turbulance and quiet incoming air.I noticed no intake noise when driving normal but gained nice throotle response before the muffler install.
3. I don't know about the built in X but it's the only magnaflow with the 3" double in/out made for trucks.

 

when i removed my stock intake tube, it seems like a huge pocket is designed to go down by the manifolds and heat up the air..............nutball design.

how did you seal the tin plates on?

 

There are 2 "pockets". Use a dremel and cleanly cut these off flush then use thin tin or aluminum and cut to shape.I used black RTV and riveted the plates on then painted black.Take your time.

 

It hangs down like a goat's *******.
