I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a cold air intake. I just recently bought a 98 Z71 and wanting to do a little performance mods. Is the K&N worth the extra $100 or is the Airaid comparable in the performance category. Any info would help.

i had the airaid on my 98 and it was a OK peice.. didnt seem to look like it was made of much. They dont have a heat shield for the 98 models either so it will suck hot engine bay air. Airaid claimed it didnt effect dyno numbers any though with or without..

but bascially its just a tube with a cone filter on it.. you could probably make one for half the price lol

If I were you, do what I did. I got a K&N drop in with a modded airbox and an Air raid intake tube. Best of both worlds.

 

they all do the same thing...buy a mac cai and save you even more money....

 

i have the airaid filter and box section sealed off to the hood with a "Low's" custom intake tube. i like it and it performs pretty good.

 

I have an outlaw cai intake and like it alot, look into them
