Default K&N air intake

I have been trying to figure out what they changes have been made to make the gen 2 air intake different from the series 77. And also do shorty headers help perfromance at all because long tube headers will void my warrenty. And what are some other mods i can do that will not void my warrenty thanks for the help.

Long Tubes will not void your warrenty. Someone on here can prolly give you the exact law but it says they can not void your warrenty untill they can prove that the change causes any of the issues you take it in on warretny wise.

Shortys will give you some power, but most just say its not worth it. Anythings an improvement over stock though, plus you shed a few pounds. With the intakes, isn't the 77 series the chrome/polished tube? If so, thats the difference. The tube does look good, but it will get very hot very fast, don't know if it will make a big difference or not though.

He's right, it's called the Magnuson Moss Act. Say for example you put headers on your truck and later notice an exhaust leak, they can turn your claim down because the headers most likely caused this. Now let's say you put headers on your truck and your power seats stop working, they can't say that the aftermarket headers caused that problem, so they're liable for it.

I bet dealers screw people over everyday because they don't know about this law.

i have the 77 series and it made a big difference in my truck. The sound is quite nice, if you still have the stock exhaust on you can tell a big difference in sound. Install took about 15 minutes for me. The only thing I would change about the product is maybe making the support/air shield a little better by blocking more of the hot engine air... if you look at it you'll know what I mean. longtube headers are the way to go vs. shorties too.

the 77 does look nicer, but the 57 (plastic tube) is worth 1 horse per the k&n web site dyno sheets. its only 1 horse less and 20 bucks more so if looks is want that is the way to go. by the way where are lookin to get it from??? there is alot of stores on ebay sellin them for about 80 bucks less than summit and places like that.
