Thumbs up Just put the Vararam intake and love it!!

I just put the Vararam King Cobra intake on my truck last night and after driving the crap out of it since i can honestly say Wow! I had the K&N 77 Series intake on it since it was brand new back in November. The buttmeter tells me that it has a significant increase in power. Much better throttle response and just an all around better driving experience.

I've read all the negative replies about this intake on here "after" i ordered it and was totally pissed at myself for buying it. But now i'm actually pretty happy i did. It was a little pricey and you have to do a little trimming and cussing to get it all fit in there but i'm happy i did.

I used a custom 4" aluminum pipe from the MAF to the throttle body since i didn't get the complete kit. That was one thing that pissed me off. I ordered it from Jeg's and i'm pretty sure it didn't say that there was no pipe included. I could be wrong so don't hold me to that.

All in all i'm very happy with the performance. The whole thing seems to be a little on the flimsy side but all seems well so far. The looks department i would have to say leaves a little to be desired but i guess that's what you get when wanting a ram air kit.

man that is a great looking truck!! You probably saw a greater gain due to pulling cooler air in. Ive heard that the K&N sucks in alot of hot engine air.

Thanks for the compliment.

I'm sure that's true about the cooler air. I just can't believe how much of an overall difference it made though. The truck's much snappier throughtout the entire RPM range.

Im sure that would have some awesome gains.. but man is that upper intake piece fugly. That part in particular is made to pull in air recieved from the front of the hood, like a ram air effect?

I bolted it on as you can see in one of the pics but no tuning so no belt. Right now i've just got the extra weight up front to slow me down. I've been waiting on my Wait4me tune (ha ha i made a funny and didn't even try) for quite a while now. Hopefully it'll get here soon!
