Just piston slap?
#1
Well, I hear that its supposed to start slightly after warmup (as the motor slows down, otherwise you don't hear it), then its supposed to last like 30 seconds to a minute right?
Mine has been slapping (at least thats what I think its doing) since a few thousand miles. It has never just lasted for a minute, it always stayed basically until the truck was completely warmed up.
Now its making a ta ta ta ta ta ta ta noise even warmed up, its the same sound as when its cold.
I'll take it to the dealer but what should I expect? Will the dealer give a fk? This isn't just cold start engine "knock" this is some fked up ****.
...and I don't think the engine is knocking or pinging when I'm running it hard, it just roars like it usually does, no awful knocking/metallic sounds.
Any thoughts, comments, suggestions?

Don't expect to do something about it. My 01 Sierra started tapping very lighly @ about 10k and never got worst. In fact now at 38k it looks like it's gone. My 02 came with it when I baught used at about 15k miles but it is also a very light tick. I would not warry about siknce I have seen 100k+ truck with this ticking noise and still running strong.
