Default just got a new truck

I just bought a 2001 silverado ECSB. I've owned two vehicles prior and they both have been moded and I'm not going to stop now. So far I just got 40 series flowmaster dumped. The only problem I have is right now I go to school so I don't have alot of money right now, so can you guys give me any advise on any low buck mods or free mods I can do untill I get out of school.

First off, welcome to the site. It depends on what kind of budget you got, lord knows mines been tight b/c of school, but some low buck mods could be
homemade intake w/ cone filter - under $50
rid the flow and get a magnaflow muffler - $50-80 depending where you buy
tune (nelson) - $400-500 (i think somewhere in that range )
or nitrous - easy hp for under a grand.

LS1 fans help a lot. I have a 2000 Z-71 RCSB w/100k miles, I ported/poloshed my tb with a dremel, did the tb bypass, Vette servos HPP3 shiftpoints, and LS1 fans, and ran a 15.5 with 85* temps.
Try all the free mods, they dont cost much if anything. Then go for the bolt on stuff. Remember it all adds up.
And oh yea, Welcome.

I think for the money one of the best mods Ive done has been fabing up a mandrel bent y pipe with a flowmaster y and u bends getting rid of the cats, it cost me around 100 bucks including having someone else weld it up. I had a noticable sop difference and gave the exhaust a very aggressive tone. Next after that would be thorley lt's cost me 430. Theres alot of power to be had on the exhaust side even with a stock engine.

Sooooo even with stock manifolds, using the flowmaster Y and mating that to the factory manifolds helps out?
