Default Just give it to me straight

ok i have an 00' silverado with the 5.3 with a long travel suspension kit on itand im going to replace my stock muffler with an aftermarket one. i want to keep all the pipes and hangers in stock place but i want to kill that stock, highly restrictive muffler with a nice flowing one. i was going to go with a magnaflow 18" race muffler but i think its going to be too loud for daily driving. any sugestions on a good sounding, very high flowing, but extremely simple muffler? im only looking to spend about $70 on it too. i can get a glass pack for about 40 and have it installed for 50. so an advice on which muffler is very simple, flows great, sounds good with stock tubes and is cheap would be extremely appreciated. thanks guys

I think you are on the right track with a Magnaflow. That's what I had on my 5.3 and still have with my 6L. While on the 5.3 it sounded real good to me. It was quiet but didn't sound stock and at WOT it would get a look or two.
The Magnaflow on a stock 5.3:

Same Magnaflow on the 6L and a small cam (its the end of the clip):

the stock muffler is like 30inches or more I think though isnt it? So any muffler you get you will probably have to add pipe to fill in the gap i think..

if you didnt want the exit pipe out the back side, then you could just put a turndown on the muffler you choose and be done with it.

Maganflow makes good mufflers and everyone ive heard has been fairly quite. I have one on my H/C 98TA and its very quiet(like stock lol). If you want something with louder than stock sound but no TOO loud then its a good choice

I would say magnaflow, I am going to get one on my truck as soon as i get the money. Magnaflow is a straighthrough design so that will help alot too.
