Unless they are the same exact your model pcm and service numbers the vehicle will not start even if you do the 30 minute anti theft relearn because gm changes the antitheft release codes from year to year to prevent thiefs from packing around different pcms to steal cars.

ok...i didnt know that...so its not worth to try it?
another thing 01ws6...was it ok how i did my swap using all my accesories, alt, starter, ac unit, intake, throttle body, injectors, and coils, etc? and only using the block and heads off the lq9?
there are no performance upgrades everything is pretty much stock?

Wrong not even close. I can post a stock 5.3 tune and a stock 6.0 tune if you like, of course you will need HP to actually open them. The 6.0 ECM just needs the theft turned off and it will work. A 323 CI engines tune is not the same as a 364 CI engines tune. GM bases their tunes on total cylinder volume. 6 liter has just a LITTLE more cylinder volume than a 5.3. The trans tune might be an issue with the 65E VS. the 80E, as I am assuming the 6 Liter came out of an 80E equipped truck. A segment swap from a SS truck would fix that.

Better leave it alone and get at least get a decent tune swapped into it before you burn it up, then get that thing strapped on a dyno and let the tuner take it from there OR get a trailer or have that thing towed to the tuner, only takes one full power pull and all that time and effort as out the window, been there done that in my younger high school days.

could just need a CASE learn for the flashing mil, anytime you swap ecm's or engines you should do this, yes alot of people get by without it but you might not be that guy...Ive looked at a lot of bin files and the only major difference is the ve and spark table, in fact most ve tables are different, even 5.3 to 5.3 or 6.0 to 6.0...the injectors are the same and maf tables from 5.3 to 6.0, the spark tables are different but shouldnt cause any issues from my experience...stock motor to stock motor, start changing cams and heads and thats a different ball game...btw alot of things could cause the flashing mil, bad plug wires, bad coil, broken or cracked plug...did u swap these things? sounds ignition like

My bet is your timing is stupid low and your A/F is LEANNNNN as F%*@.
DO NOT LEAN ON YOUR TRUCK HARD AT ALL UNTIL ITS TUNED. IT'LL POP...YOU'LL BE SAD
The 5.3L ECM doesn't have a clue what to do with the 6.0L ( More air, demands for fuel etc...EVERYTHING) AT LEAST put the 6.0L computer in it. Best case you get it tuned and really unleash the 6.0L, if You dont I dont think youll be pleased with your work you just did.
When I did My swap, i test drove the truck. It had the stock 5.3L ecm in it with the new 6.0L. The truck was so weak it wouldnt spin the tires over. My buddy tuned it for me with HpTuners...Then It would get sideways at 30 mph. He found that my total timing was at 17-18 degrees with the stock 5.3L tune. We set it at 28. Added fuel until he maxxed the stock 6.0L injectors and it wanted more.
