Default just about to put her back together

doing trick flow top end pkg(216/220 .560/.560 114 cam) and had some thoughts\

Will it even start/run on stock pcm tuning?

If it does run, can I drive it to have it tuned? (will it be too lean/risk damage)

Will it make a difference if I get it tuned before/after doing the servo/shift kit/converter for the trans part of the tune?

I spoke with the guy at Yank converters this morning regarding the break in procedure for the converter, and he said the converter would be fine as long as they don't allow it to lock up during a dyno pull, so that makes me feel a little better...but this is a little new to me and I am wanting to do this right!~

Just installed a Z06 cam in my 4.8. Started right up on the stock tune. If you stay out of WOT, you should be fine.

Z cam is milder, but yours is not overly aggressive:

'01 Z Cam: duration 204/211 valve lift 0.525/.0525 lsa 116

Thanks for the info....I feel better already, but I probably should factor in the driving distance for having it tuned, lol. I havent decided who is tuning it yet, could be anywhere between houston and baton rouge. If I don't do it locally, it will get put on the trailer

Call BlackBear and he can do it remote...take a few extra days, but it'll work great and be dependable.
