Default IW 8rib throwing ac belt

Thanks to Atomics fast and reliable tuning services I've been able to beat some street miles into my RCSB. Haven't had any serpentine belt problems since the innovators west 8rib swap. However I have slung the AC belt 3 times. First I noticed the tensioner was weak and put a new one on along with a new belt. Second and third time it slung I believe it happened during a little rev limiter action. I have not put a laser aligner on it yet.

Any blower guys have this issue?
Is it a rev limiter thing or a manual transmission thing?

Other than that this thing rips! Need to pulley down soon.

Ditch tensioner and get a stretch to fit belt. I haven't chucked one since.

Perfect that sounds like an easy fix. Got a part number by any chance?

+1 stretch fit belt. I used Gates K040355SF. It’s the same belt used on newer model GM trucks whenever they switched over. You will need the little install tool too.

Thank you! Belt is in my amazon cart. Is there a particular install tool that's better than the others?

Not sure on what’s the best, but I have the Lisle one I believe. $20 and worked fine for me.

Perfect I was already looking at that one. Looks shiny and slick to maybe make it a little easier.

All is ordered thanks for the help everyone

Same belt # I used on our '06 6.0's.. but no install tool needed. The Gates tool didn't fit my crank pulley. Couple large zip ties looped through made the job cake.

Good to know I guess zipties really do fix everything. I got the belt yesterday and the tool comes tomorrow so I will likely tackle that this weekend.

Yep. Hang the belt around the compressor pulley, then start it on the crank pulley as much as you can reasonably get it on there. Then, zip tie it to the crank pulley so that it can't slip, and turn the crank with a breaker bar to finish riding the belt onto the pulley, snip the zip ties, done.
