Sorry dude, old news. It is an ext cab w/ an Escalade engine with the C3 AWD and factory 20" wheels on a 1" drop. In other words, a big fat heavy pig that will probably run 15.6 stock 1/4 mile times. Hardly any comp for the new (alleged) Dodge, Lightning or SC Supercrew H/D. Here is the link Silverado SS . Sorry GM, try again. Just my opinion.

 

Pretty truck but not worthy of the SS badges. Well it would probably beat the newer Monte Carlo SS but they aren't worthy either.

 

They had the right idea back in 2000. Looks like it should have a RS on the side , not SS

 

I would think it would run better than 15.6. More power and a 4.10 gear. 15.0 or better I would think. That competes with the HD sc truck, which I saw run a 15.19 in 75* weather. Not that I agree with what they have built, I think a super charger is needed. Maybe next year!

 

They should build this damn truck. Can you imagine the possibilities with a Big block and AWD.

You know what pisses me off about GM. They build all these bad *** toys and hint that they may go in to production but, never produce any of them. When a vehicle rarely makes it to production its always watered down.

I don't know how the Impala SS made it back in 94-96. It was even watered down with just a standard LT1. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Does anyone remember the big block prototype?

Then theres all the V8 S10's they built and hinted at production over the years. I waited forever for one of those and nothing. They did come out with the Sy/Ty which were cool but, I couldn't afford one back in those days. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

Oh well, I'm done ranting. I'll just keep doing this <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" /> thinking about all the crazy things GM has done over the years.

except for the camaro it seems all of GMs recent SS models haven't exactly lived up to their badges. a V6 FWD monte carlo is hardly an SS. and while this truck will no doubt haul *** its still not an SS, IMO. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> i think an SS needs to kill lightnings off the showroom. maybe this could be like a silverado GTand serve as a good starting point for someone to go all out.

i myself am tired of my friend, who drives an 89 5.0 LX coupe, saying how awesome FORD is becoming with their line of SVT vehicles off the lot.
