Question Iron block LS1 ????

so iv been reading up on these motors it seems rather easy to accomplish..
my question is will my 862's, that have been decked ( i know it was just enough to make them flat, which wasnt much) and lightly ported, work with this budget build..
i mean i know they will bolt on, but what kind of CR am i lookin at??
will it still be a very streetable, towable, 93 octane drinkin motor???

Looks like you need to do some more searchin. Go to the internal engine section of this forum and search away. Also go the gen III internal engine section on LS1tech and search away. You can find the answers to all your questions I promise, it is what I have been doing the past 2 weeks.

Here I will help you out a bit. 862 casting heads have a 61.15 cc combustion chamber volume as oppose to the 243 casting heads which have a 64.45 cc combustion chamber. Therefore, you will be raising the compression a ways by putting your 5.3 heads on with the ls1 pistons. Depending on how much the heads where decked you may have to have the pistons fly cut if you want to run a large cam. The rest you can find with a few searches here and on ls1tech.
