Interstate Cruising With New Engine
#1
How many miles should I have on my new 6.0 before cruising the interstate for long distances, like 150 miles? I've got 520 on it now, and just did the 3rd oil change.

I've read that, and broke in my engine similiarly. But that really doesn't answer my question. Is my engine broken in sufficiently by 500 miles, that low stress cruising for extended periods are OK? BTW, I'm still running non-synthetic oil, and will be until at least 3,000 miles.

It's already seen WOT, and well over 6K RPMs
I started going WOT after about 400 miles. The first time I drove it, it saw 4K and back pressure back down. I've pretty much stopped the back pressure thing, but still aren't just cruising and babying it. I'd like to be able to drive it normally, but don't want to be too easy on it too soon. That's all.

I don't yet have a wideband to perfect WOT, buy my MAF and VE tables are done. LTFT/STFTs are real good. I'm fine tuning my idle, and think I have that real close.

Went for a drive tonight, and it looks like I've got the trans and idle close to nailed down. Not a hint of surge at idle now. VE and MAF are done as well. Tomorrow I'll be doing a final round of RAFIG logging. Then all that's left is WOT tuning, and looking for areas of KR and spark tweaking.
