Default Interesting....New spark plug design

I read an article in Automotive Design & Production magazine yesterday.

A company named E3 Spark Plugs has come up with a new design that's supposedly "the greatest". Is it smoke & mirrors, like Split-Fire, or is it really good? Right now JC Whitney is their only retailer so I'm not so sure. Anybody want to be the guinea pig?

You can read more about it at their website:

bosch has been putting out plugs similar to that for a while now. to me more electrodes is more shielding. i am going to try and cut the ground strap back on mine for the juice and see how that works.

I've seen cut-back ground electrodes on plugs in the drag strip pits. Top Fuel (FC) and I think PM and PS use them. The gnd e-trodes are about half the normal length and the cut is not flush but tapers back. They have monster igniton systems to jump that kind of a gap.

I read about the E3's and I understand what they are attempting to do. With the "diamond shape" head, they are thinking that there will be a more direct spark and use ALL of the spark unlike reg. plugs (u grooves, v grooves, no grooves). They are supposed to save fuel, make more power, AND save the environment? Well, sounds like we may have a new Nobel Prize Canidate.

But... I have just replaced my NGK's @ 65k on an 2001 Silvy... w/ Denso Iridium, Gaped at .055 and i'll tell you what.. They are probably the best ive ever used..(MSD wires helped as well i suppose) but maybe i'll give these a try in another 30k miles... hopefully, i'll forget about em' ;-)

((Prices about the same as Iridium http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...p-8764/c-10101
If intrested, look for make and model here^^ go for 9 bucks each))
