Default got my cats cut off

Well i finally had my cats cut off this afternoon. i have stock exhaust manifolds with the stock Y into a flowmaster dumped. I also have a cutout.

it is more raspy especially before shifts. it is noticeable louder. any performance gains, i think so. they weren't clogged but both were cracked on the inside and the guy doing the work said it wouldn't be long before they gave me trouble.

anyway, i can now lay waste to the rubber from a dead stop through second gear. from a 25 punch i spin and the *** end gets sideways a little. also the top end feels like it pulls much better. i can't wait till i get some headers and test it with the cutout open.

i do have the rear o2 sensors deleted and i run 4.10 gear with a 31" tire.

Hey goshawk23, what engine does your truck have? Im thinking of doing the same to my RC/SB 4.8L Sierra.

i have the 5.3L.

the only thing that that is killing me about the getting the cats cut off is the fact that my poor man cutout has a broke gasket and it is more noticible now. before i coudln't here the leakage but now with the air just rushing by it is more profound. but that is an easy fix. i just need to buy some new gaskets.

if i can make it to the track sunday i will be able to see how it does on the bottom end. as of now, i think i might have gained some low end grunt.
