Default Intake swap

Getting the new 212/218 comp cam wednesday, I am considering going ahead & having the ls1 intake installed as well. I believe that all I will need is the longer intake bolts & to cut the waterneck off the water pump. After reading the chp article this looks as if it would be a good idea. any suggestions? What does this require?

I keep hearing that the truck intake is better... from several people.. I have a LS1 intake waiting to go on but from what I'm hearing I'm putting it off for now.

From everything I have read about the intakes, there is no real advantage of running the ls1 intake. Ours make alittle more tourqe down low where we need it. Just my .02

I have seen the same on the thread, but with the 212/218 cam the ls1 intake showed an advantage over the truck in this month's chevy high performance. it was about 25 hp. So I feel like there has got to be some advantage....?????

I'm with you on that one. I know you're dying for a 14sec timeslip!

What all mods will have to be done to make the ls intake fit?? I wonder if it would have the same hp outcome with my 224/230 cam??

an ls6 intake would really help on your setup.
your standard split is aiding the exhaust gases escape. a help in the intake flow would help balance out the intake/exhaust.
with your setup, i would think anything helping out intake flow would be a plus.

your right about the timeslip! I am dying to whoop your ***! I put the 20's back on & this truck feels soooooo slow! Brad is putting the cam in wednesday. In the chevy high performance magazine it shows that they had a 22 hp increase over the truck intake with the same cam...... Brad said he would look & see if he can do it all in one day.

I am concerned about the injector bushings, everyone talks about having to replace them but no one has a part number
