what intake set up makes more power, the CAI or the vararam? i no the vararam does well on vettes but want to know if they hold true for the truck as well? i seen on here that someone took their truck to the track and it had no more power till after the 8th mile but then gain like 2 10th's and 3 mile an hour?

I have a S&B on my truck, it made quite a difference, nothing drastic but was feelable... I've heard lots about the vararam that makes me think it might be worth using though but its just ugly...

I've heard that the Vararam are poor quality. Most of the aftermarket CAI's perform about the same. I've had the K&N FIPK and now the Volant with ram air, and they both felt the same to me. The Volant is nice to look at but is pricey. The Volant will clear the 05 efans and 34" radiator while the K&N (for a pre-05) will not. You can modify your stock set up and get about the same results as an aftermarket set up. Do a seach for "homemade CAI" and you'll find alot of results. If you're willing to drop some coin though, I like the Volant as it's a quality system that's asthetically pleasing also.

Spectre! haha the kit is the SAME as an AEM just with a different filter. And its only a little over 100 bucks on Jegs i believe. Just throw on a K&N or dryflow filter when the one that comes with it is dirty.
