One warning about the Airraid heat shield. It will RUST That's the biggest reason I got rid of mine.If I were you, the first thing I would do is spray it with some truck bed liner paint. You can get the touch up stuff in a spray can at Wal-Mart.

Mine hasn't and it's been on since I installed it in May of 1999.

It's a moist climate thing. Mine lasted about 3 months before I noticed rust. Not another spot on the truck and has only been on the beach 2 times.
