Default intake minifold question.

I have an ls1 intake that i swapped for the ls6 intake on my formula, and I was wondring if there is issues with putting the ls1 intakeon the 5.3? has anyone done this?, and if so what were the gains?

what I understand is that the throttle body doesnt clear the belts. You have to change out your Acc brackets for the F-Body ones...that and I dont think the LS1 IM works better than the Truck IM

The truck intake works better than the LS1 intake does, installingthe LS1 would be a step backwards

The truck intake produces more power up to about 5000 rpm's because of the longer runners. The car intakes will flow much better past 5000 rpm's. The truck intake was designed to be 3" taller than the car intakes because of the fan blade on the truck engine where as the cars of course have electric fans.

ok, that makes sense. I would rather have the low end torque anyway in the truck.

Thanks

finally got to the track last night. I will post some vids later, but not to bad overall.

1st pass all motor, shut down early (had trouble seeing the finish line due to poor lighting.

2nd pass all motor, dropped tire pressure to 26 psi.

1/8 10.3307 @ 69.15
1/4 15.9558 @ 84.76

3rd pass dropped tire pressure to 22 psi and sprayed. The spray hit right after the 60 ft, and broke the rear loose! even with a set of 285/75/16 nitto terra graplers!

4th run also on the spray

1/4 14.9856 @ 92.88

5th pass this was the last pass I made on the spray. I noticed the spray was not hitting like it should, as soon as I got done with the run I pulled over and found that I have a pinhole leak in my n2o line that goes from the solonoid to the nozzle. There is nothing there that it was rubbing on so I have no clue how it happened.

I made a few more passes on motor after that, and because it was cooling off, the best one that I managed was a 16.0001 @ 85.11. Overall not a bad night, this is the first time I have had the truck out , and also the first time that I have raced an automatic trans vehicle.
