Default Intake?

I am having a problem deciding what intake setup to go with. I ruined a mass air flow meter with the stock air box. Wanting a k & n with a prewear over it. I see alot of people going with the UPD but I am not happy with the stock air box right now. Any ideas?

What do you mean "prewear"?

Prewear meaning sock, its a water resistor that you can get for the filters. Just protects it a little more than open element.

Then you can go with a Volant but those are usually expensive. But one plus to those is that you can pay for a ram air scoop. I don't know how much power the intake and scoop really adds but they claim about the same as any other company

if you want to use the K&N pre-filter go for an FIPK....they use the open element filter with a heat shield......I just bought one and can say that low end power on mine remained the same but high-end WOT pulling power increased decently....and it is just as quiet as stock (suprisingly)

Look in my sig for pictures of my PFIK and prewear. My setup was noticable louder than stock, alot more air noise.

Like the idea of the ram air, but I love getting muddy and that idea won't work for me. Thanks for the input though. Nice looking truck btw.
