Default installing 6.0 in RCSB 1500 4x4 Z71

I have a friend that has an 03 Z71 and is looking to do this swap. How much trouble was the job. Who has done this and what kind of problems did you run into? What kind of costs were involved? He really wants an LQ9 6.0 and maybe do like a cam and headers. Seems like the stock transmission might be a problem with the new found power. What 1/4 mile times have you seen with setups similar to these?

He also wants to want to keep the stock torque converter in the truck.

Why ... ? There is so much to be had with a converter. The Yank TT2600 has excellent road manners.

Check out my new truck in my sig ... I ran a best of 14.35. I think being a 4x4, he should run high 13's or low 14's. Traction won't be a problem for him, but weight will be.

Yup ... the Yank 3000 will keep factory towing too. That was the main reason I went with Yank, cause I tow a good bit.

Maybe he can get a 3000 or something. He doesn't tow that much, only sometimes. He was also thinking that the price was too much for them.

let me tell you what i have.

high mile stock6.0(lq4), 4l80e(slows me down i am sure), stock 4.8 single exhaust, stall, efans, upd. it is showing ~13.8 on the gtech.

now get a milder stall, cam, headers, and no 4l80, and an lq9, i would say mid to low 13's.
