Hehe i installed my ASM's this week... and i had the exact same problem. Oh and another broken bolt on the passenger side. Fortuantly vicegrips to the rescue.

must be nice. I broke 4 easy outs, vise grips didnt work, 1 can of PB blaster, now I have to take heads to a machine shop to have them helicoil and weld up one bolt hole and get 2 bolts out of the other head. I wouldve gladly paid $3 more for my 40K tahoe to have stainless grade 8 bolts

why is it the litttle thing that **** us off so much.

greentahoe: sorry about you luck, that sucks big time, i feel your pain, well kinda. it would be like how pissed i was X 20. good luck and use those 8's.

oh yeah i also did the lock nut bolt thing with my headers. i like them, not to bad installing them, even though i droped the little locker ring twice and had to find them(they dont give you extras)

right now im up at my river house fishing, when i get back ill be working on the y-pipe. everything is stainless steal 3". i still have to get my flex pipe, so far i got (4) 90*, (4) 45*, a v-band type thing, and 14' of pipe. this should be enough to finish my exhaust since im running it out the side before the rear tire. ill get pics of everything when i get back.

I broke a header bolt during the first 6L swap. Luckily it was on an engine stand and could be tapped out easily. After that I bought Grade 8 Stainless and replaced all the header bolts before it went back in the truck.
