Installed Banks CAI today
#1
Installed on 2009 5.3L. Couple of initial impressions
-took around 50 minS
-Banks fit and finish is best in class IMO
- hardest part was disconnecting the house from the engine (no big deal though)
-better throttle response
-for sure more aggressive engine sound (this is the only mod on my truck for now)
-the stock system is no doubt more restrictive. A simple eye test will prove that
Yes, I probably over spent on a CAI going with banks, but very pleased at this point.
Next up: kooks long tube headers (arrived while I was installing the CAI...icing on the cake!), y pipe with high flow cats (still waiting on shipment), AC Delco Iridium Plugs, Taylor Plug Wires, 160 degree thermostat, and street tune. Keeping stock cat back for now.
