Default I'm Going 408! ...but a few problems first

I called MTI to get info. on getting started

Here is what I am going with to start:
6.0 Long Block (HAVE--currently in the truck)
-Lunati Forged Rotating Assembly ($3300)
-MTI Stage IIR Heads w/ chamber mod ($3200)
-Engine Fully Balanced & Blueprinted ($400)
-X1 Cam Package w/rockers, retainers, etc. ($1400)
-Double Roller Timing Chain ($160--HAVE)
-Blueprinted LS6 Oil Pump ($150--HAVE)
-Meziere Electric Water Pump ($550)
-LS1 E-Fans (HAVE INSTALLED)
-6.0 Radiator with Oil Cooler (HAVE INSTALLED)
-4L80E w/ Transgo & B&M Cooler (HAVE INSTALLED)
-TOG Headers (may change to Dynatech) (HAVE INSTALLED)
-Direct Port Nitrous System (250-300 shot) UNTIL TURBO IS ADDED

A few things I am worried about (NEED YOUR HELP):
1) Truck intake isn't enough to handle this! How do I upgrade to the FAST LSX? (MTI told me it wouldn't directly swap)
2) Will my 42lb. injectors be enough for when I eventually add a turbo? If not, who even makes bigger ones and are there any tricks/mods involved to make larger ones fit?
3) Will the fuel rails/lines need to be made bigger to accomodate the bigger motor (and future turbo)
4) Does anyone make a direct port nitrous system for something like this??
5) What am I missing or lacking from the lists????

408 with a turbo is gonna max out the 43lb injectors real quick. I would have MTI modify your stock harness to accept LS1/SVO style injectors and run a set of 47lb at min. and maybe a set of 57lb if you plan on making this a big HP motor in the 700rwhp+ range.

I had 47lb#ers on my blown Mustang with a goal of 600rwhp and people still told me I didn't have enough injector. LOL

John at Speartech may be able to tell ya what you need to do to make the LS6 or Fast intake work on the truck. it's easy till you get to the water pump issue. The LS1 water pump will allow you to put the intake on but the belt doesn't ride 100% correct and something about the neck needing to be modified or something.

Thats alot of money for that motor. APE quoted me 6400 for a cheap steet 370 that makes mid 400's rwhp, and about 1000 more for the 408 and that included the core charge. I am going to build one in August, but it will be in a sc instead of this heavy *** ec.

Injectors definitely. Better get your 57lb order in now. High impedence 57lb injectors are non-existent in supply. I am going to end up going with 60lb high impedence, much more abundant.

My Callies rotating assy came in at $3400, already balanced as part of the pkg price. That was through my local speed shop.

Also, one thing I didn't count on was a new crank pully/dampener. My new Callies crank is keyed, so need a keyed dampner. The only one I have found so far is made by ATI. $500, or so for the truck. Haven't got a definite price yet.

You can re-use the stock rockers.

What CR are you building for?

The Lunati rotating assembly for a 408 comes in 2 CRs.
8.5:1 & 10.6:1
I am going to go with a custom piston ($150 extra) and get a 9.5:1 if possible. I can always play with it a little in the heads though.

I have been looking at that key on my Callies crank for 2 weeks now but it never crossed my mind that I would need an aftermarket pulley. Glad you mentioned it. Can we just cut a keyway in our existing pulleys? Or is the crank size different?

That could probably be done, but may mess up the balancing. I don't know if it would do that, or not.
