Go test drive a GTO. I'm betting you'll get bitten like I did
Prices for used ones have dropped a lot recently too.
Back seats are very comfortable (kind of a pain to get into, but once you're back there it's real nice).
LS1 and LS2 engines have a lot of aftermarket support
I got 25mpg on my last road trip from Phx to Abq doing 85-90 the whole way
Mid 13's in the 1/4 bone stock

thats the problem i know ill like it and idk if i want to, my insurance will bend me over.im still tryin to debate if i do get like GTO do i wanna look for an auto or manual?

If you have the truck with an auto, get a manual in the car. You can have fun driving it, but if you get tired of driving stick go back and drive the truck for a few days.
BTW, my GTO gets about 18 in stop and go city traffic, and I don't drive very nicely.

thanks for the input from everyone oh and thats not true than any lsx engine gets bad intown mileage, like thunder said, the gto is decent for a v8 and i know vettes get pretty damn good mileage also. i think its gonna be between CTS-V, GTO, and a G8 guess ill just have to look and room, price, mileage, insurance rates and drive one before i can make a choice.atleat i got it narrowed down to three .. i guessing cheapest to mosts expensive will be GTO,CTS-V,G8

Being 18 and insurance playing a big role in what you get I would opt for an older GM car. Whether it be an older LS1 Camaro or TA or an older Impala SS w/ an LT1. When I was 18-20 I opted for a Grand National. Although not exactly cheap, you can find good deals on them if you look. They have a good aftermarket, room for 4, and insurance insures them as if they were a Regal. There is also the 3.8 SC vehicles like the GTP and Regal GS. All these vehicles have good aftermarket support.

You can get the G8 with a 6.0. It goes 0-60 in 5 seconds. Roomy inside. 6 speed tranny.
I plan on buying one within the next year. Technically it would be my wife's new car. Do you think she would notice if I installed a procharger on it? HAHA
