Do everything parish8 does, we need everything the same in the world.
Bryan TTM: Build it up right, forget the SC, and go turbo, then boost it to the moon. Pretty smoke any small block around.
As he said NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT.

I dont see a stock bottom end big block with a head and cam package running more than 450-500 rwhp on the street. A properly tuned boosted small block will make more than that.

Isn't adding a blower or turbo adding more displacement in a way? Engines are air pumps--by increasing the bore and/or stroke, you're adding more capacity for air. By using a turbo or blower, you're forcing more air into the motor, which in a round about way is increasing displacement. Right?
I would LOVE to do a big block--if for nothing other than the sound a good cammed big block makes. I saw a nice 8100 at Turkey Rod Run this weekend for $4500. It definitely got the wheels turning.
Torque is what we need to get this heavy trucks moving, and a big block will provide that in spades. I say go for it!!!

Its worth not the work. The LSX motors breathe so well and make so much power per size its not a worth while swap when you can drop in a direct fit 6.0 with a few bolt-ons that will make more power for less effort.

Do it nubi!
Then when you are making the same poweer as I am but getting 8mpg, can't smog, and find out it cost you double what it would have cost with the smaller cubes don't come crying to me.
Pipe dreams, pipe dreams.... 2 of you in particular crack me up because you run your mouths and don't have **** to back it up.
I sense some immature attitudes in here so I'm in a mood to sling my own.
