Default I want stainless headers..... but no one seems to make exactly what i want.

Unless i'm wrong and missing something, no one makes a stainless long tube header, with a 3" collector, that's ceramic coated as well. I've seen the stainless works headers, and they look nice, but have a 2.5" collector, and i believe the dynatech's are the same. And neither is available coated. Now i know i can send them out to get coated, but that on top of stainless headers.... just keeps making the bill even bigger, for a header with only a 2.5" collector. I love the pacesetter design..... i just wish they were stainless, because i'm willing to bet, eventually the pacesetters will look like the AS&M's do....... ( crap ) because they're steel. We'll see on that, since they just hit the market within the past year. Basically..... i want a long tube header, with a 3" collector...... that will always look brand new. Any ideas guys?

StainlessWorks will make them with a 3" collector if you request, grippy had em made for him. I don't believe that ceramic coating is recommended with stainless steel, for whatever reason.

I've never heard that they don't reccomend stainless to be coated, many companies make them, for other applications. I'd go stainless, but i've heard it browns out and looks kinda crappy after they're heat treated from the engine. I didn't know grippy had a set made... i'll have to look into that. Thing is.. i want a set that designed for 3' collectors, not just made that way.... yanno? I've heard a lot about header and collector design and how they work together, just doesn't seem like if they took a set of headers and slapped a bigger collector on..... that it'd be better, if it wasnt' designed for that.

My dynatechs have 3 inch collectors cause they had to put a reducer on them at the exhaust shop tto tie into my dual 2.5 inch exhaust. They are brownish in color though now.

There is really no way to stop the browning or discoloration on stainless steel exhaust parts. True stainless steel would be the best, a 304 grade is true stainless and used in many higher end exhaust systems and will not rust but will discolor.
Chrome plated steel does the same thing, it just looks a little cooler with all the blue tones mixed in.
Ceramic will not discolor unless it is exposed to extremely high heat that would most likely be degrading the material the exhaust parts are made of.

I'm confused, first you said you wanted 3" collector and 01slowz71 said he's are 3" collector but you don't want that either.
Are you trying to keep your stock Y-pipe or replace it? I believe you can get either a off-road Y-pipe or the ones with the cats from Dynatech.

I'm running true duals, so a y pipe is not a concern. Headers only.

and as for you being confused...... i meant i did not want the discoloration, which is why i asked for pics.

Ill take pics this evening for you Loud. They are even worse than they were before since my dumbass friend that thought he knew how to adjust roller rockers on the new motors did the old tighten the nut while running till it quits ticking trick and it has some burnt oil on it. Ill clean up one of the primaries so you can get a good idea of what they look like. Its not too bad butI think you will find that all of them will discolor somewhat. You could always get them chromed. Then it would have the bling bling look your are going for but not sure how long it would last.
