I have the Crane 208/216-.530/.530-113LSA in my 5.3 and it's awesome daily driver and sounds very "lopey". With the idle at about 550 rpms it sounded like a drag car. With the rpms now at ~750rpms, it still sounds very nice. It's a very noticable cam, I get compliments about the way it lopes pretty often. I wish I could post up some sound clips of it, but don't have any way of doing so. A couple of people on here can vouch for me though. In second gear with the 3.42's it put down 286rwhp. With headwork, cut-outs and a 3rd gear pull with the 3.90's it should put down 315-320rwhp easy.

So far my fav. cam was my 226/.535/112. It loped so hard at 750rpm that the truck would shake side to side at a stop light and the antenna would just shake back and forth. With a good tune it drove like stock and put down some good power. 97mph N/A at 4900lb raceweight is pretty good for a stock 5.3L without a pulley.

I would give Rick@Synergy a call. He is the one that helped design, install and did all the tuning on it. It definately required a tune as the thing WILL NOT idle without one. LOL I wish I could get that sound back on this new motor

With the 3000 rpm stall it worked out quite well if you want something agressive. With a raceweight of 4900lbs I ran 14.29@96.8mph w/ 2.0 60'.. That was with the usual bolt-ons minus a pulley. With more gearing or a bigger stall my times would have dropped like a rock but 31" tires and 3.73s isn't the best for drag racing.

97 MPH IS GOOD BUT WHAT KIND OF 60' CAME WITH THAT A BIG CAM WITH OUT A CONVERTER WILL BE A DOG OUT THE HOLE.

Who would buy a big cam and NOT buy a converter?? It's kinda like buying a supercharger/turbo without doing injectors... Or buying 4.56 gears a 3800stall and racing on street tires.. Kinda stupid..

As for your weight. 4040lbs in a NBS is stripped down IMO. My RCSB 4.8L with a couple items removed has a raceweight of 4450 (I weigh 165lbs). So wether YOU stripped it down or not it is still a lightweight truck no matter how you cut it and that was my point.

I agree with you that he will need more than a cam to get to 350rwhp for sure. I feel pretty confident I was at about 320rwhp when I made my 96-97mph runs but since I never redyno'd after tuning I don't know for sure. A well tuned cam only setup should be between 310-325rwhp I would think. Any more than that is great but not nearly as common unless you have low drivetrain loss (IE 2wd vs 4wd) or a loose motor.

Well Mine Is A Cam Only Motor That Is Coming Out Only Has 10800 Miles On It It Dyno 336h 340t.the Second Motor Had About 4k 318h 324t.i Have Not Dyno It Since I Put The E-water Pump.since The Dyno I Change The Springs And Put Titanium Retainers And E-water Pump.i Still Have Converters In Front Of The Mufflers, tow Hitch In Back With Roll Pan. I Do Race With 225 60 16 In Front And Drag Radials In Back.the Only Thing I Removed Was The 3 Bars 2 Went Towards The Front And One Goes Across By The Trans,no More Egr,fan Schroud, front Sway Bar No Jack, tail Gate, spare Tire,1/4 Tank Gas
I Never Dyno It With 104 In IT Either I Do Run That Gas Time To Time.

12sec5.3 Weight Is Around The Same As Mine And He Still Has His Bumper We Have The Same Truck.

No Power Windows,locks,keyless Entery,no Extras
You Would Have To Put A Good Set Of Heads On It To Put Down 350hp

If you are interested I have some 6.0L heads with valves and springs (pulled off a 02+ truck), for $350.
