Default I need more horse power

I'm driving an 1998 GMC Z-71 5.7 litre and want some performance.
Where would you start.
What is the best bang for the buck for hp.
I'm going to have to remove my intake manifold to repair a coolant leak.
Any info would be appreciated.
I believe the 1998 5.7 vortec has 255 horsepower I would like another 100

Nitrous is the best bang for the buck, however if you want power that's there 24/7 most of the common engine Bolton's ive seen are cam, headers, exhaust, coldair intake, and switching to electric fans and under drive pullies. Some of the most common drive train changes are a stall converter, shift kit, limited slip differential, and changing the rear gear ratio. You can research all of these and more using the search tool up top. Super Chargers and Turbos are nice but its a big chunk of change all at once. This forum has most of the knowledgeable and Helpful people ive seen and can answer most of your questions. Good Luck
