I have a great job opening this summer and I want to get a pickup. I cannot decide if I want to get a newer model (2000 or 1999) which I won't be able to pay a note on new truck b/c I still want to do some mods to my car and I also have a 68 camaro that I need to put back together.
Should I go with an older model for less money and still be able to work on both of my cars... , get a new model and pay out my *** and only be able to afford one car.... or just say fuggit and forget about a truck(which I really need) and work on my cars??????
I think my best thing to do is to do the first 1 and get an older(90-93) chevy and work on both cars
I just want some info just to see what you guys think.

If you are just going to be using it to work out of and haul stuff around, I would go for and older one and mod out the TA. I am hoping to buy me a play car soon so I will quit modding out my truck!

If the truck is going to be your daily-driver, get a newer one. Nicer inside/out and you will enjoy it more.
You may get lucky enough to find a used one that already has wheels and some light bolt-ons on it, that would be nice.
These new LS1-based trucks are sweet!

I got a 2k single short gmc 5.3 for 14k and its in real good shape, they are just harder to find.

Get a new one. I've had a few trucks but none drove, handled, ran,or stopped even close to these new GM trucks.Just my opinion

I think I am going to try to get a newer style truck, but I also need a 4x4 since I do alot of hunting and outdoors things. I might have to settle for an older model 4x4 since I wont be able to buy a new 4x4 and work on the car to. The newer model toyota tacomas come on to be alot b/c they are the toughest trucks on the market(besides chevy's of coarse) but they cost an arm and a leg(if you can find 1 for sale)
I might just buy me a cheap truck for now and HOPE for something newer and better for graduation
