Default I Got A Problem!!

Ok here goes guys. I dunno wtf is going on. WHen i punch it inbatween 4,700 and 6 grand i ping like a biatch. ITS really really loud now. And there is black smoke coming out the exhaust. Not to dark but you can see it. What im thinking it is is because i haven't gotten a tune up in awhile. Any feedback is welcome its been about 45000 since a tune up.

I have no idea man. A tune up would help. Get that problem checked before something screws up.

The seafoam trick might help out a tad if you haven't done it yet. I did it on mine@120K miles and it was only white smoke for bout 30 min.

Tune up is not going to help - ping means detonation, which means timing - ignition too early. - Check spark advance and knock sensor.

Why do you think a tune wouldn't help at all!! First off if hes not running 93 octane, then it will ping with the tune he has. Detonation has to do with either three things: 1.Not enough fuel 2.Not enough air 3.Not enough spark. If his tune up consist of changing to NGK TR55's plugs for spark, changing a clogged fuel filter for fuel maybe even some injector cleaner (if they're clogged), cleaning that FIPK cause it could be to dirty to suck the right amount of air in! I dont see why a good tune up wouldn't possibaly help. First I'd try those simple fixes, and if it doesnt help, call Nelson back and get him to retune it based on what you know. Are you getting any SES codes??

Sam doyou have any scanning software, I would really stay off the throtle until you get this fixed if your seeing smoke and hearing detonation you are really asking for it and might have allready blown some rings
