I was born in Pittsburg, they make the best Hotlinks.
I cut the flanges off the exhaust and ran all new pipe. The cats are completly gone.
The MAF screen was taken out and removed and the inside was hollowed out as much as possible. The TB is the stock one, its just been cleaned up some and ported to match the intake.

I think I am going to talk to the muffler shop and get a set of used cats that they are going to through away and use those. Then take them up there and get them to put them on. They already toldme that if I brought them a set of cats, if they would put them on no questions asked and they kinda agreed.

Your right about the hotlinks. FL, is a long ways from home for you then, not to mention a big change!

I just have to find a set of them now. What did you do with the ones you took off? Are you wanting to sell them?

Marshall is considered the arm pit of East TX by many people.

I think I threw my cats away. Why are you putting cats on? If you need them for inspection purposes only why not put them right in front of the muffler, that way you can still run open headers with cutouts in front of the cats.

I love my exhaust shop .. they do really good work.
I want the cats in there for inspection purposes and so it will look factory. Except for the extra 3 gauges and the missing tail pipe .. you can't tell my truck is anything but stock.

Oh .. I also gutted my cats this weekend. I took the pipes down, made a cut right behind the cats, and went to work with a 3 foot screwdriver and a 3/4" paddle bit. I still need to take my truck back up to the shop to get them to weld some pipes back together.

I think the truck sounds better with the exhaust straight out of the gutted cats than it does with open headers. It has a deeper roar to it, where open headers is just a scream.

Thats a nice set up you got there. Where did you get the flange and caps for the cutouts?

The flanges you see in front of the cutouts are from the TOG headers. The caps came from a set of FlowTech cutouts. The driver's side pipe is also flanged just in front of the X-pipe so you can drop the whole pipe without having to cut it to get the tranny out.

You can barely see the cross pipe in this picture, but it won't let you even drop the tranny pan with it in place.
