Why don't you build up the 5.3 first?

Whats your budget like?

200 for a 5.3 block is kinda a ripoff imo.

You can practically get a 5.3 longblock for that

Personally I prefer a stock looking truck that runs like a vette over a nice looking truck that someone wants to steal and runs like a turd. So you're making a good decision in my book.
Yes you can make power with a 5.3 punched to a 5.7 or just as a 5.3. The limit is up to your pockets.

well after i just droped 3 gs on rims and lowering it and after a drunk pounded the side of it and 3 busted rims later im going stock look and that ho is gunna run. i like the deal of a 5.3 to a 5.7 its cheap for the block and it leaves more money for the build

$200 for the 5.3 block + a 5.7 rotating assembly + heads + cam + machining bill= Most likely more than a complete 6.0 and price of a cam.
