FLP? Long waiting list and high price were my turnoffs. Even with the Yank converter, I'm still going to come in cheaper than JUST the 4L65E with NO converter.

I have heard great things about FLP's trannys, that may be one option. How long ao a waiting list do they have Scream? Has anyone heard of Transmisiion Center's Raptor trannys?

I heard a local shop here talking about someone had one. The guy who had the car had it fixed a couple times in Shreveport (where they are), and then took it to this other local shop. He said he fixed it and never saw the guy agian, which led him to believe it was problem free.

On the other hand .... that's the ONLY negative thing I've heard abou tthem. They had a test truck at the track last time I went there. It was pretty damn wicked, like a pro stock alcohol blown truck. They do a lot of internet business and have been in business locally for some time now.

The guys who work there have some really slick looking cars too.

I live in the same town as transmissioncenter. They recently did my Transgo+vette and cooler and did a good job. I actually went in both their tranny building rooms and they are very busy and send out alot of trannies. I just talked to them today about getting my 4l60e rebuilt and installed. It comes with the billet servos and new 2800 stall or better if you upgrade$$$. All I know about there trannies is from what the locals say and its the best place around here. Was the tranny you killed your stock one on your 2000? How many miles dod you get out of it and how long you been spraying??? Oh yeah I was quoted like $1800 something for rebuliding mine and those parts above reate dat 5 or 600 HP! Thats a good price huh being installed??

This was my first tranny. Just broke past 37k miles last week. I think GM programs the computer to self-destruct trannys when they get out of warranty. I havent even sprayed a whole 15lb bottle through it yet, i was gonna go to the track next month. This sucks major @$$!

Damn, that sucks about your tranny. I have 110k miles on a 2000 Z-71 and 80k miles on a 2002 with no tranny troubles, but I'm not spraying or supercharging. Tranny coolers sure do pay for theirselves.

Thats what i dont get, i have a tranny cooler and Denali guage cluster. My trans temp were never above 220*, then all of a sudden when i was driving down the freeway. I hear this rattle which sounded like a loose bolt or something. It then got a little louder and my tranny temps soared to 280* and it started making a grinding sound. By the time i got to a safe spot to pull off, i barely had any forward or reverse gears. Later, after being towed home. The tranny was nice and cool i decided to take it for a quick spin around the block<I figured my tranny was already F@#&%d up> It drove fine until it again got to 280*, that time it sounded like a dozen marbles in a coffee can.

Call them up and make sure, but when I was looking into the FLP's it was going to take 5-6 weeks to get their Lvl 5 '65E. From what I was told by Chuck, there were a lot of orders for this tranny--it wasn't that they were dragging their heels building them or anything.

I was looking at the FLP website. It looks to me that the level-5 is vaccum opereated, can anyone explain this too me? I dont remember anything about a vaccum line on my tranny when i swapped converters.
