Default Hypertech or Superchips

I'm looking for a little help when towing, and getting the most efficiency out of my 6.0. I've read up on these two ( Hypertech or Superchips) and was wondering others EXPERIENCES.

have you looked into the VHP handheld tuner? you can do much more with it than the superships and hypertech. http://www.stealthram.com/vhptuner.htm there are a couple of truck guys here using it.

I had a Superchips programmer on my 4.8L and it was a vast improvement over stock. If you can find a good deal, they are both pretty good units. I AM with the other guys on getting a custom tune, but if you don't plan on doing alot of modding, a handheld might be the way to go, incase you ever plan on getting rid of the truck. You can always use the handheld to replace the computer back to stock, and then sell the unit.

I am very happy with my Hypertech. Its been great so far and I still haven't "out grown" it...although it will soon be time for a custom tune. I did cut my ET by a half of a second with the Hypertech, and I can sell it when it comes time to get a custom tune.

I would get a Nelson tune, I had the Superchip 2715, tri tunner and had a lot of problems with it concerning the transmission slipping, matter of fact I had to have the trans rebuilt becasue of it. It is a good improvement, but I think it is all extending the shift points, and rev limiter that makes it feel faster. What I wasnt impressed by the Superchips is that it will tune 5 different motors 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 old vortech 5.7 and 5.0! My question to Superchips is how in the hell can 1 programmer be used on 5 different motors and expect a 20rwhp gain? With a custom tune you will get at least 20rwhp, and the elimination of torque management.
