first: on my 1-2 shift at wot the tranny kinda studders before kicking into 2nd gear. it's like it tries to shift but it takes three attempts to finally catch. doesn't sounds too healthy
and it only does it at around 6000rpm's and higher.
second: what are some good shift points. i'd like to keep the rev limit to 6000 but would like the best performance out of the shift points.
third: should i get off my lazy butt and experiment with it myself?

The reason it is "studdering" is because you are on the rev limiter. As for the shift points, try +4 for first and +10 and +0. This is a good starting point which you can adjust after you try it. I used these to knock about 4 tenths off my E.T.

If that is Torque Management then its alot worse than mine! If he says its happening at 6000, and he hasn't adjusted his rev limiter yet, its definately the rev limiter thats doin' that. Leave it in drive once and run it out and see if it still does it. I can surely feel my TM, but its nowhere near what he explained.

well i hate to bring this back from the dead but the problem is still there. and it seems to be a little worse now. i brought the rev limit down to 5900 and set the 1-2 shift + 6, 2-3 shift + 11. before when it would studder, it would seem as if the tranny tried 2 times to shift before finally shifting into 2nd. and now at wot it not only studders, it doesn't seem to want to shift until i let off the gas...not good for speedy track times. i think i'll return the truck back to stock, test it without the hypertech, and go from there. suggestions/comments?

put ur rev limiter at 6200
then put the 1-2 shift at +4
then put the 2-3 at +12
just leave the 3-4 at +0
put the tuning on 93 and use 93
firm up the shiftness
u wont have any problems after this
sometimes, if u peel out too much in 1st.. u will hit the limiter no matter what.

I know I'm new here, but I think the other guys meant for you to raise your rev limiter so the shift would occur before hitting the rev limit. For example, if your shift point is set to happen at 6000 RPMs and your limiter is at 6000 RPMs then your engine will cut power and mess up the shift. But if you raise the limiter to 6200, then the engine will not cut power and your shift should be normal. A second option would be to lower the shift point, again to make it shift before hitting the limiter. Hope this helps.

EXACTLY! If you have your rev limiter set at 5900, and your 1-2 shift at 6000, its not gonna shift without hitting the rev limiter. Listen to what hyperlite said in his post, these are about the best settings you can use, and the ones I use myself. Do you understand how the rev limiter works? Once you reach the rpm that the rev limiter is set at, the motor automatically misfires (studders as you put it). So the lower you set your rev limiter, the worse your problem will be. Like I said, start all over and listen to Hyperlite, he made a great recomendation on the settings and they will definately work for you. Once you get it right, you will really notice the power and shift firmness that the HPPIII produces.
