Hypertech question

Right now I have the HPP3 in my 00', the truck has 90k on it, will I need the HPP3 to deprogram the PCM if I were to say drop in a 6.0l(with the 6.0l pcm) and reprograming the 5.3 pcm(if possible)? I want to get rid of it for some extra cash but do not want to go back to the stock tranny program because of the mileage and fear of the obvious... Kind of a vage question but if you get it let me here what you have to say!!

Not sure if I am following you correctly but YES you must deprogram the HPP3 tuning and return the PCM to stock to be able to sell the HPP3. If you fail to do this the unit will not work for anyone else and you'll have one ticked off customer.

i think i know what your sayin.you can use the stock pcm for the 6.0 that you have now.i would just detune it before the motor swap then get the new motor in and runing then you could use the hpp3 to reprogran.is that it.

Most all the programmers vin lock to your truck pcm so the programmer only works for your truck. Its a money thing. So you would have to put it back to stock to sell it to someone else or it wont work for another truck.
