Hypertech PP3 Vs Predator- Track Times
#1
Well, Through my Hypertech tune back in and went back to the track.
My truck weighed a few pounds heavier at 4310(more fuel and left 20's on front) from Last week w/predator-4240.
Same Temp and less rubber on the track, street night.
all runs pretty consistent
hypertech -left from idle.
60-2.040
330-5.882
1/8-9.119 75.17mph
1000-11.975
1/4 14.402 @ 92.71
Last week with predator "custom tune"
60-2.058
330-6.033
1/8-9.403 72.78
1000-12.3
1/4 14.922 @ 88.21
The down side of the hyp is it doesn't like the long tubes and the ltrims are little off from what the predator was getting.
This happened before with my predator vs hypertech dual in the begining of the summer when it was cooler and I got the low 14's with the stripped truck. This time I left the tonneau, tailgate etc. on.
I switched to the predator because of all the talk and 2 custom tunes later...
I wish there was a way of comparing the timming tables because I'm sure it's off on the predator but the ltrims and o2 mvs are dead on.
I guess my point is if your saving up for edit or a supercharger The hyp has been a hassell free unit in the meantime for me and I wished I never wasted money on the predator waiting for this winter.

I've had both the Predator and HPP and I agree with you, the Predator feels so much better around town. I haven't taken it to the track yet but my 0-60 times are better than with the HPP so far. I always get little flustered because my truck slows down in the warmer months because of the heat but right now with the Predator, it's quicker than it has been over the past summers. My quickest time (adjusted for DA of 3300 feet, 15.02=14.47)was actually done with NO HPP tuning and was only using the higher shift points. I was also using a GMS maf and the truck wasn't as quick with the HPP tuning and GMS as it was without tuning and running just the maf. My quickest actually none ajusted time is 14.85 with the HPP, I'll see if the Predator can beat that.
