Default Hpp3 ??????

I have a HPP3 for 02 GM trucks. It is part number 30012 good for 4.8/5.3/6.0. Today I tried putting it on my friend's Escalade with a 6.0. This SUV has onstar and it would not let me install it. I tried disabling onstar by removing the fuses that desable it and no luck. When I have the key on "ON" position, the HPP3 won't even turn on no matter what I do. What do you all think. Is this normal for it not to lit up. Should the HPP3 lit up at least and let me know there is some kind of error? Can someone who has installed an HPP3 on a truck with onstar please give me a hand.

I had a problem the first time I tried to install my programming. The fuse to the cigarette lighter plug was out and the power for the OBDII port comes from the same place. Take a look, it might be the same problem.
