Default HP Guestimate needed from LS1 Gurus and an intro!

Hi! Just signed up tonight, but I've been lurking and sponging up all thi great LS1 knowledge for a few weeks now. I hang out over at FSC quite a bit, but find more Performance minded folks over here...so this could be my new home!!!

Anyway, I was wondering is someone could give me a ballpark on what my RWHP is running close to with my '03 5.3L mods: Airaid intake with Modular Intake Tube, Diablo Predator, ASP Crank Pulley, Descreened MAF and TB coolant mod. I'm just getting started on the HP deal, but I kinda' wanted to get an idea of where I stand right now. I'm working on getting the intake opened up real good then I'm gonna hit the long tube headers (and rec's?) and I'll prolly hae to go with a GIbson cat-back because nobody frickin' makes a system for an EC Long bed but them...that I'm aware of, unless someone can enlighten me!!! Other than going custom...which is alwaus an option!
Thanks for the help guys and I'm damn glad to be here!!

Ryan

Welcome to the party!

I'd take a wild guess you have an additional 30rwhp or so over stock. A custom cat back will be cheaper than a boxed on too.

HItmanX,

What do these trucks pull at the rear wheels in stock form? I know they're rated at 285 at the crank, so..somwhere around 235-240 at the wheels? I'm just giving it a S.W.A.G.!!!

Also, thanks for the tips on the exhaust...I didn't really look inot doing that really, because I thought it would be more expensive...Now I can get those Borlas that I've been drooling over!!! HAHAHAHA!!

220-230 sounds right with a 20-25% drivetain loss. Borla is pretty expensive...I like the Magnaflow. Nice rumble, very low drone, and not too costly.

I liked the Borla sound on my old 99 Z71. Very mellow, very cool.

Welcome to the site tucker, or william, or tuckerwilliam. Performance technical stuff is our bag baby. I tried out FSC, but I wanted the meat and potatoes tech info, not the finger food mindless posts there. Not to say that there isn't good info, it was just saturated with all models of trucks and some silly attitudes (dont get me wrong, we have some of that too).

Oh yeah - I'd guess 265 rwhp with an 03 and those mods.

I like Borla sound a lot! I really LOVE the Corsa but I can't make myself spend that much for a catback.

Yeah Tex, that's kinda what I wnated to say about FSC, but being a newbie, I didn't wanna come off as an *******!! By all means, I'm a mod junkie to the max and I like to get down to the nitty gritty, compare every detail and, most of all, get REAL WORLD input from people who are using the stuff and know WTF they're talking about. I get tired of hearing...well I deescreened my MAF and got 8 RWHP from it!! Well, that's what it felt like SOTP! F' that, that is for people who still drive Ricers..not that there's anything wrong with that.. BWAHHAAA Anyway, what I wanted to say was..I agree with ya' totally on the FSC deal. SOme good guys and good info over there and a great place to buy used stuff!! But, after stumbling into this place, I've not been back to FSC even once!!

Also, I'm with ya' Hit man on the Corsa System. I used to be a service manager for High Performance (500HP and up only) POwerboats and Corsa had a killer exhaust for Big Blocks, it was AWESOMER. So I can only imagine what that system that has the dual rear exits with the dual intercooled tips would sound and perform like...."pops wood"...but for that kind of cabbage.....OOUUCHH!! Maybe you can find a used one, but not me...damn Long bed!! But, being a contractor, I gotta' have it!!

Oh yeah...Tucker William is my oldest boy (4 1/2) I'm just Ryan!!! In case you give a darn!!
