what are the specs on it? i lost my comp cam part number book so list the specs. unless it is like a tr224 or a hammer cam or something it should act fine. as long as the lift isn't huge. and i would run comp 918 springs with anything. but the 01 ls6 springs are good to i think and don't quote me on this .525"

that cam would be pretty tame (idle) in a 5.3L. be a nice torquey cam im sure. for springs you could just get a set of ls6 valvesprings with the low lift of that cam
btw, its their 206/212 .515/.522 112lsa

I'm also looking at that specific cam in my 4.8. Would it be less torquey in a 4.8 and help out more in the midrange? What would idle sound like also?

I called Comp and talked with them about this cam the guy I talked to said that stock springs and pushrods would work O.K. He told me that the stock springs were good up to 550. I am a little confused. Is he just feeding me a line of BS?

I've always heard that stock springs were good to .500 as well but I haven't measured them either. I think that the truck valve springs and the car valve springs are the same part number. No car guys run the stock springs with even slightly higher lift cams.
One interesting note- that guy who posted about installing the 02 LS6 cam in a truck did it on stock springs. That cam has .550 lift.
