hey guys,
new to the thread. some time in the next 6 months i will be buying a truck. i am considering a few different options, but basically i would like to run at least a high 13 quartermile, and keep gas mileage up as much as possible. i have a bout a 27 grand budget to work with so i will be buying slightly used. can this be done NA on the silverado? i would opt for the 5.3 to save some $ and gas and i would get ext cab, 2wd. what would i need to get done, how much $ am i looking at, and what would gas mileage turn into....thanks for any help!

 

I would really suggest reading upon some of the threads that have already been created.There are manydifferent ways to make it happen. there aree some ways that you can do it that will murder your mileage and some ways may keep it about the same.... my advice is to read up A LOT!!!.... you will learn tons that way...

 

you should easily be able to find a good deal on a 5.3 Silvy and have plenty left to put you into the 13s... even if you want to stay NA. Let us know what you end up getting, read the archives and we'll help you out from there. Good luck on the buy!
