Default How much boost can I run???

How much boost can I run with out Meth? I have an intercooler and 42 lb injectors, but the stock fuel pump. My timing is set a 18*. Would I be ok to run 12-14 lbs once in a while in high boost? Jason said he ran 15, some times 18 with a lot of meth on the stock fuel system with this kit. I'm at 7 lbs with the base STS on my 4.8. I was watching my intake temps today and saw no increases while boosting at 7 lbs. Also no knock.

Yoy need a pump. The stock one won't keep up with those injectors.

I agree.. Think about the consequences! Is it really worth it to max out your fuel pump and hope it will be ok? Seems like a very bad idea to me!

You could run 15-18 and be fine, as long as you have logging and tuning software, including a wideband and you don't let it knock. I wouldn't run more than 8-9 psi without that stuff though.

15 to 18lbs????

Wow, I'm running 9psi, with all the fuel/tune goodies, Comp Cams springs and pushrods, and Methanol. I wasn't sure I should go much more than 10psi?

"How much boost can I run" questions are tough to answer. People want a hard number like. "10 the most you should run and be safe" IMO though, you shouldn't run any boost with logging, tuning, and wideband capabilities.

The other day I was logging with my wideband, and noticed some spikes to 14-1 at WOT. I found a short in the wiring to my inline fuel pump. Without a wideband, I would have eventually burnt a hole in a piston. That doesn't mean 11psi is too much. It just means 11psi is too much if your fuel pump goes out and you have no way of knowing.

Seems like Parish pushed his 4.8 to above 15psi with no problems just by watching his knock sensors and afr.

That is like asking, "how much should I spend on a motor once I blow this one up"

It all depends on the tune/Gas.
