Default How to measure if heads have been milled?

Picked up a set of 2008 799s last month and they were believed to be milled slightly. I would like to measure them to verify so I can plan accordingly. How do I go about it? I have all the measuring tools available, just need to know the procedure and what they should measure stock. Thanks.

What measurement are you really after? Chamber size or PTV clearance?

If your looking for chamber size you can take them to the machine shop, have them CC'd. or buy the kit and do it your self.

I got a flavor injector from wallmart and used water....not the most accurate thing but gave me the result I was expecting so I knew I was in the ball park.

I'm not really sure what i'm looking for, mainly just to find out if they were actually milled or not so i can figure out head gasket and pushrods.

Again, for what purpose? Figuring out your chamber volume to figure out your compression?

You need to measure for your pushrods with a checker once you get the engine together, dont waste your time trying to figure out what you need, actually measure it.

ya i suppose that is the best way to do it. I was just hoping to have all the parts by the time i started putting it together, but i should be alright if I have to wait. Was just thinking if a deal came up I could jump on it, but they arnt really that expensive.

I was also going to possibly get them milled another .030 which would bump my compression to around 11:1 from what I read? I think I should be about 10.5:1 as I sit right now, but i don't know if thats going to gain me much for the time and money to do it.
