how many quarts needed?

Default how many quarts needed?

hey guys, im installin my shift kit tomorrow in my 4l60e, and i was wondering how many quarts of fluid i should get, or expect to loose in the process.. my spec book says the pan holds 5 quarts. and the tranny like 11 quarts total. does this sound right?

5 qts if just the shift kit.

Get a couple of extra just in case ... the valve body holds a good bit. I konw we got a nice shower when we dropped it and the seperator plate.
