Default How Many different coil packs

how many different coil packs are there for the 99+ trucks. i know there is one with the silver fins on the top and i got one right here in front of me without the fins. also i got another set of coils in yesterday that looks totally like nothing ive ever seen on a truck. im not sure if it is a truck coil or not waiting on the guy to get back to me.

no there are what I believe 4 different designs for the lsx engine....the round one on ls1/6's, the square ones on ls1'6's, the truck coils, and the new ones for the ls2. I dont know if the ls7's use a different coil, and about the ones with fins...can't say I've seen them....

Ok, I take that back....did a little quick research @ work.....there are 5 different coil design so far....The trucks all use the same coil 99-present, including the new tahoes, sclades...the camaro through 02 and vette through 04 use the same coils, and the gtos and cts-vs uses the same coils. Now your thinking where did I get 5? the trucks and gtos each have 2 different types....a mitsubishi coil and a delphi coil. and the ones with the heat sinks are the mitsu truck coils.

Delphi is round, mitsu is square.
here are the part numbers -

Truck-99-present -
12558693 (mitsubishi)
10457730 (delphi)
Gto/Cts-v/vette/Impala, Monte Carlo, Grand Prix w/5.3 05-present -
12570616 (mitsu)
12573190 (delphi)
Camaro, corvette, gto, cts-v up to '04 -
12558948 (only one!)

Maybe a sticky or something??

well, maybe they changed the design, the part numbers for these coils change at least once for each of them, so there is either a supplier, price, design, or application change. bChalk it up to what you want, they all work the same and bolt up!!!
