#1
Well im going to be having my Y-pipe custom made, only thing is is that i have to put my pacesetter Lts on before i get to the muffler shop to save me some dinero, its a good 20 minute drive from my house to the muffler shop, so my question is how loud will it be running open headers??? will i get pulled over??? also will i have any problems with the engine? will it mess anything up??? thanks

You should be okay... Just don't experiment despite the fact that you'll really want to
It's mainly about the throttle transitions,... keep them light and if you are on the stock stall, it really helps.

If you hop on it you could run the risk of valve float or worse, you might hang a valve. I know this is true with older motors but just keep your rpms down. I, not thinking of this, jumped on it and it sounded NASTY. No float but prolly shouldnt have done.

No worries on the valves.
Unplug the o2 sensors in the front though. Otherwise, they will get fresh air across them and cause faulty readings. The end result will be incredibly rich running, probably fouling out a set of plugs, and if it gets bad, it could burn up a set of wires.
It's loud, no sugar coating it. You better look around, GOOD, before you stand on it. If you're like me, you won't be able to resist it.

i had to do the same thing a week ago, you'll be fine with the cops as long as you dont screw around too much, ang yea keep the windows down. nothing will happen to the motor but make sure your coolant line isnt on the hreader because that can melt the line. your check engine light will turn on but its all good nothing will happen.
good luck!
